Project Brief:
Previously, Adwin Spring Co used traditional measuring methods, but these often led to inconsistent and inaccurate readings.
Speaking to Will Hayes, Quality Manager at Adwin Spring Co, he explained:
“Before we purchased the OGP UK we used traditional measuring methods of Vernier callipers, micrometres and shadowgraphs.”
“With a lot of those methods you can get different people getting different readings that can be quite inaccurate.”
As Adwin Spring Co faced increasing demands, tighter deadlines, and the need for 3D measurement capabilities, they began searching for a more intelligent measurement solution to ensure greater accuracy in their products and obtain more detailed data.
“We needed a non-contact form of measurement as a traditional CMM would move the springs instead of making a definite assessment,” explained Will.
“We looked into different methods such as laser scanning and other non-contact companies, but found OGP UK to offer the best product.”
